iGrow Network

Leafit is a new social media marketing company that hopes to tap into the 2 billion users worldwide on social networks and over $1.1 trillion in ecommerce in 2013.

They run a free affiliate program as well as a paid Associate program, both of which pay members when others buy products as a result of pictures they've posted on their social media accounts.  The business opportunity can be boiled down to: post pictures and get paid.  People buy products, you get paid.  Their motto is Snap, Tag, Share.  

The Company

iGrow Network founder Lawrence Sowell was interviewed by Terry Bradshaw on his business show called Enterprises TV.   They ask, If social networks can profit from our content, why can't we?

COO Ron Pope was also interviewed and stated that social networks make their money off user data and content.  Founder and CEO Mr. Sowell simply wants people to be able to share in those profits.

Leafit (more on that later) sprung out of CEO Sowell's desire to provide a platform that's simple and familiar so users can monetize their content.   Bring together social media and ecommerce and what do you have?  Social Commerce.  

The people behind the Leafit app are FUELED, a leading developer of apps.  Mr. Sowell was featured on the cover of Mobile Entrepreneur Magazine.

The Product

Let's start with Leafit, which I mentioned earlier.  Leafit is a social media platform you can access from your phone.  In other words, it's an app.

Connect Leafit to all your social media accounts and you're ready to start.  Leafit allows you to see all your posts in one place, no matter how many different social networks you posted on.  That makes it easy to tag your pictures, which is what Leafit is designed to help you do.

Tagging your photos helps them get noticed, which is what you want to happen because the ultimate goal here is to have people see the pictures and want the products.

Once they buy the product as a result of clicking on your pictures, you get a commission.

Interacting with your Leafit-tagged photos means users will get an invitation to joing the iGrow Network.  If they do, they become part of your sponsored network.  You'll then be earning commissions off their tagged picture sales, too.

The second product is called iGrow University and it costs $50 per month.  It's also the “buy in” for becoming an igrow associate (see below).   It's an online training resource.  For example, the course on Facebook Marketing includes lessons in:

• Understanding Facebook
• Understanding Facebook's newsfeed algorithm
• Data analysis using Facebook's insights summary
• Utilizing Facebook apps
• etc

The Opportunity

The Verdict

The product Leafit seems forward-thinking, unique, and potentially successful.  However, the compensation plan's Associate program is steeply priced at $50 per month.  You're not really getting much from iGrow University, as far as I can tell- or if you are, it's worth more like $10 per month.  Therefore, it feels just a little like you're paying $50 per month just for the privilege of trying to sell their products and their network (recruiting).

With such a great product, there's no reason they need to come off like a pyramid scheme.
