USANA Health Sciences Review – Procosa Product Formula

USANA Review

USANA is a network marketing company which claims to be “one of America’s leading companies in the field of health and nutrition.”

The company sells nutritional supplements, multivitamins, meal replacement shakes, and skin creams.

USANA is also the first multilevel marketing company to be officially endorsed by Dr. Oz. Dr. Oz joined the USANA team in January 2015. In a press release announcing the decision, Dr. Oz praised USANA’s integrity and singled out one product in particular: Procosa.

Find out everything you need to know about USANA and Procosa today in our USANA review:

What Is USANA?

USANA is a multi-level / network marketing company based in Salt Lake City, USA. Founded in 1992, USANA maintains 18 offices in Canada, Australia, Thailand, Japan, the UK, and other countries around the world.

USANA is also one of the few publically-traded network marketing companies: it’s been listed on the NASDAQ since 1996.

USANA sells dozens of different health and wellness products separated into three categories: Nutritionals, Diet & Energy, and Personal Care. Those products include skin care treatments, meal-replacement protein shakes, healthy snacks, and multivitamin supplements.

USANA History

USANA was founded by Dr. Myron Wentz. The official USANA website calls Dr. Wentz an “internationally recognized microbiologist, immunologist, and pioneer in the development of human cell culture technology and infection disease diagnoses.”

In 1974, Dr. Wentz launched Gull Laboratories. Over the years, Gull Laboratories would develop several FDA-approved diagnostic assays marketed towards hospitals and clinical laboratories. He actually developed the first commercially-available test for diagnosing infection with the Epstein-Barr virus. \

After nearly 20 years of running his own medical laboratory, Dr. Wentz sold his business in 1992 and founded USANA Health Sciences.

In the last few years, USANA has enjoyed a string of success. It’s repeatedly been chosen as one of Utah’s “Best of State” businesses in multiple categories, including Best of State Dietary Supplements (5 times), Best of State Personal Care Products (Twice), and Best of State Overall in Merchandising and Consumer services.

It’s also been chosen as one of the best places in the world to work: in 2011, Outside Magazine rated USANA as one of “50 Best Places to Work” for the third year in a row.

In 2012, USANA underwent a massive rebranding campaign and redid several of its product lines. And finally, in 2015, USANA had the unique distinction of being chosen as one of Dr. Oz’s Trusted Partners and Sponsors.

USANA Products – What Does USANA Sell?

USANA separates its products into three different categories: Nutritionals, Diet & Energy, and Personal Care.

There are dozens of products in each category, so I’m not going to provide detailed reviews of each one. However, you can see a general overview in the categories below.

Nutritionals

This category includes multivitamin supplements, such as multivitamins designed to support antioxidants, bone health, hair health, vitamin D deficiency, weight loss, anti-aging, immune system support, and more.

Supplements range in price from $20 for a monthly supply to $130. Full ingredient charts and supplement facts are published at the official USANA website.

Diet & Energy

USANA sells protein shakes, energy drinks, and even fitness equipment in this section. There are whey protein powders sold under the brand name Nutrimeal, for example, which offer 15 grams of protein per serving. There are also pedometers, BlenderBottles, and an energy drink called Rev3 which promises to provide sustained energy without the crash.

Personal Care

USANA sells a wide range of personal care products separated into three different categories: skin care, skin treatment, and hair & body care. There are moisturizing creams, toners, masks, cleansers, toothpaste, loofah gloves, body wash, and other products.

Selling USANA Products

Selling products with USANA seems relatively straightforward: USANA even claims that it does all of the hard work for associates and makes earning regular residual income easy:

“Because USANA products are consumable, you will have a regular stream of income coming in as people re-order. Use the Auto Order program to make earning money as easy as possible—USANA does all the work (taking orders, shipping, etc.) and you get all the credit.”

At the USANA website, visitors can view a list of Business Tool products which include the Health & Freedom Single Newspaper and the Business Accelerator Suite, which consists of online courses for USANA business owners.

Procosa Review

There are lots of popular USANA products. One product, however, has recently risen above the rest. That product is Procosa, and it played a big role in Dr. Oz’s recent endorsement for USANA.

Procosa is a multivitamin supplement designed to support healthy joints and bones. It uses ingredients like glucosamine sulfate, turmeric extract, vitamin C, manganese, and silicon. These ingredients have been scientifically-linked to healthier joints and bones.

Glucosamine is a natural chemical compound found in the body. WebMD.com actually recommends glucosamine as a treatment for sore joints and bones. Other ingredients – like Vitamin C and Meriva – similarly neutralize cell-damaging stress throughout the body.

You can buy Procosa from Amazon for $30 to $35. It also retails for $32.45 on the official USANA website, although you need to order 22 bottles at a time (you can order single packages from Amazon).

USANA Compensation Plan

USANA claims that its members have six different ways to earn money. It describes itself as using a binary compensation plan which offers “generous commissions every week in direct proportion to your ability to sell USANA’s products to your customers and build an organization of Independent Associates who do the same.”

The six different ways to earn money with USANA include:

1) Retail Sales

The bulk of your USANA compensation comes from retail sales: you sell USANA products at whatever price you want. Then, you earn commissions between the price you purchased the products and the retail price you sold them at. USANA recommends a retail price 10% higher than its “Preferred Price”.

2) Weekly Commissions

Members earn up to 20% in commissions on the weekly group sales volume. This volume is accumulated from your network of Associates and Preferred Customers. This network, like you, generates volume through product sales. A certain amount of volume (up to 5,000 points) is carried forward to the next week.

3) Lifetime Matching Bonus

USANA claims members can “receive a lucrative reward” for helping new team members succeed. You’ll receive lifetime commission (up to a certain percentage) on sales by any personally sponsored Associates who become Premier PaceSetters and Premier Platinum PaceSetters. USANA claims to be the only MLM offering this type of matching bonus.

4) Incentives

USANA offers a number of “fun and challenging contests and leadership incentives” throughout the year. You can win trips to Hawaii and Ireland through these contests, as well as a luxury car (typically a luxury car lease).

5) Leadership Bonus

By becoming a top leader who helps others succeed, USANA members can receive a share of profits for excellent sales performances. Every week, USANA reserves 3% of all commissionable sales volume and divides it among qualifying Gold Directors.

6) Elite Bonus

USANA doesn’t say much about this incentive level. It says that the current payout is approximately $1 million per quarter and it gives away Elite Bonuses to encourage members to “strive for the heights of excellence.”

Ultimately, USANA claims its compensation plan helps members “Build the Wealth You Want.”

USANA and Doctor Oz

On January 22, 2015, Dr. Oz announced a partnership with USANA Health Services, Inc. That partnership makes USANA a member of “The Dr. Oz Show’s Trusted Partners and Sponsors.”

Dr. Oz is a cardiothoracic surgeon and three-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning Host of The Dr. Oz Show. In a statement on the partnership, Dr. Oz revealed the criteria needed to be called a Dr. Oz partner:

“For the Dr. Oz Show to call any company a Trusted Partner and Sponsor, it must meet certain criteria. Chief among them is integrity. We've done our research and found USANA to be an outstanding company. One that offers cutting-edge products that we here at the show would feel comfortable recommending to our wonderful audience.”

As part of the partnership, Dr. Oz will prominently feature USANA products on his show “for months and years to come.”

The first week of the promotion will see Dr. Oz reviewing Procosa, the vegetarian glucosamine supplement designed to support healthy cartilage and bones.

Conclusion: Who Should Join USANA?

USANA is one of the largest and most well-known multilevel marketing companies in the world today. Most MLMs don’t survive for over 20 years, but USANA is well into its 24th year of existence.

The recent endorsement by Dr. Oz should help fuel USANA sales around the world, as Dr. Oz has promised to prominently feature USANA products on his shows over the coming years.

All things considered, USANA appears to be a reputable multilevel marketing company committed to creating health-conscious products at its FDA-approved facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
