Tempo Wireless

Tempo Wireless Review

Tempo Wireless wants to help Americans save money on their wireless bills. It offers a number of cell phone plans ranging from $30 to $60 per month which include perks like no data caps, no contracts, no activation fees, and no credit checks.

With Tempo Wireless, customers can maximize the power of referrals. If you refer just three friends, you’ll receive free monthly service on your own cell phone bill. Additional bonuses are available when the people you refer also refer others.

Tempo Wireless is based on a multilevel commission structure. If Tempo Wireless sounds familiar, then you may have heard about Lightyear Wireless, a similar company which aimed to disrupt the wireless industry. In October 2014, Lightyear Wireless changed its name to Tempo Wireless and completely rebranded itself.

Is Tempo Wireless any different from its predecessor? You bet. Today, in our Tempo Wireless review, we’re going to explain what this company sells and how they can help network marketers earn lucrative commissions.

What is Tempo Wireless?

Tempo Wireless is the rebranded version of Lightyear Wireless. Tempo Wireless is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and aims to capitalize on the lucrative pre-paid wireless market.

Tempo Wireless’s predecessor, Lightyear Wireless, launched in the year 2000. It was owned by Lightyear Network Solutions (formerly known as UniDial), which was based in Kentucky and founded way back in 1993.

In 2014, Lightyear Wireless was acquired by Birch Communications. Birch Communications was founded in 1993 as a competitive local exchange carrier, or CLEC. They were one of the most successful niche carriers in the United States and serviced more than a million customers across America.

So today, we have Tempo Wireless, which is owned by Birch Communications and is no longer affiliated with Lightyear Network Solutions.

What Does Tempo Wireless Sell?

Tempo Wireless sells a few different telecommunications plans. These plans are billed on a monthly basis and are based over nationwide 4G/LTE networks. You can actually choose whether you want to use Sprint or T-Mobile when you sign up for Tempo Wireless, so you’re getting the same service and coverage as you would get on any of the “Big 4” carriers.

Tempo Wireless carrier plans

-$20 for 200 Minutes: Receive 200 minutes of cell service calling for $20.

-$34.99 for 700 Minutes and 700 Texts: Enjoy 700 minutes of call time and 700 sent and received texts.

-$59.99 Per Month for Unlimited Everything: This plan includes unlimited talk, text, and 4G LTE data. There are no caps for high speed. The plan also includes $5 of international calling.

-$39.99 Family Plan: Pay $39.99 on top of the Unlimited Everything plan ($59.99) to receive the same unlimited deal on 4 more devices for your family. So for about $100 per month, you and 4 of your friends or family can enjoy unlimited everything. That’s relatively cheap.

Tempo Wireless cell phones

Tempo Wireless customers can purchase phones directly from Tempo Wireless. Or, they can bring their own qualified device.

If you choose to bring your own device (BYOD), you’ll be able to easily bring most popular smartphones on the market today. The only requirement is that most phones need to have an unlocked GSM, which you can usually do for free by contacting your current carrier (or buying a contract-free phone). You can view a full list of accepted devices in this PDF document.

Popular BYOD devices include: iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, HTC One M8, iPhone 4S, and iPhone 4.

If you choose to buy a phone from Tempo Wireless, then you won’t be able to enjoy very many high-end devices. The phones are, however, available at very cheap prices (many phones are free for new customers, while others cost under $100 for new and existing customers).

Phones you can purchase from Tempo Wireless include: Samsung Galaxy S3, Dash Jr., Studio 5.0 LTE, Studio 5c, Studio 6.0 HD, LG Viper, LG Optimus Elite, Motorola Photon.

Now, those aren’t necessarily bad smartphones. The Galaxy S3, for example, was the best phone on the market when it first came out in 2012. However, most of the phones are showing their age and are now 2-3 years old. I recommend bringing your own device to enjoy the best possible Tempo Wireless experience.

Tempo Wireless Referral and Compensation Program

On its own, Tempo Wireless is a strong wireless provider which offers enough incentives to get people interested. However, there’s also a whole other aspect of Tempo Wireless we haven’t yet discussed: the referral and compensation program.

This referral and compensation program can give you a free cell phone plan. It can also provide you (and people in your network) with residual income and bonuses. Some people even start an entire Tempo Wireless business and become regional managers for their area.

Tempo Wireless uses a basic multi-level compensation plan which allows you to gain bonuses from people you directly refer and people in your team and network. Here’s how it works:

-Refer 3 customers to receive free wireless service (referrals must be at your current plan to receive this bonus)

-Immediate bonus income on customer acquisition lets you earn $13 to $25 per new customer

-Monthly residual income means you receive up to 10% on personal customers and 1% to 4% on your entire team’s customers through 8 levels

-Leadership incentives mean you and people in your team get paid for rank advancements and rewarded for hitting sales targets

Starting a Tempo Wireless Business

If you’re interested in starting a Tempo Wireless business, then you’ll have to pay to join. Like most multilevel marketing companies, about 70% to 90% of people who join will never make back their initial investment.

However, those who have the right skills could find Tempo Wireless to be a lucrative opportunity. Here are the costs of joining Tempo Wireless:

-Manager Package (Free)

-Senior Manager Package ($299.99)

-Regional Manager Package ($499.99)

Tempo Wireless advertises the “Manager Package” as being free to join. There’s no upfront fee to pay, although you’ll still need to pay $25 to setup your personal website and another $49.99 per month to maintain that website.

If you buy the Senior Manager and Regional Manager package, you’ll receive the first month free. You’ll also be able to advertise a free first month to your retail customers.

If you talk to Tempo Wireless representatives, they’ll tell you that selling wireless plans can be a very effective line of work. As one rep explains, even when times are tough, people still pay their cell phone bills:

“People in many of the health and nutritional companies, their volumes are going down month after month after month, not because those products aren’t good, but because those products are outside the normal monthly budgets for a family, whereas with wireless, everybody’s already got it, nobody ever quits paying their cell phone bill. You’ve probably seen people lose their homes, their cars….yet they’re still paying their cell phone bill somehow. That tells you it’s a recession-proof product.”

That’s just one perspective on Tempo Wireless. Many MLMs sell overpriced nutritional supplements and expensive beauty products. When times are tough, these are often the first things people stop buying. The same thing doesn’t happen for wireless products, which is why many people feel Tempo Wireless is a good opportunity.

Conclusion: Who Should Join Tempo Wireless?

Tempo Wireless is a rapidly growing mobile network popular among people of all ages: older people enjoy having a simplified plan laid out in front of them, and younger people appreciate saving 50% or more off their current overpriced wireless bill.

Tempo Wireless appears to be genuinely different from Lightyear Wireless and offers a wide range of devices (users can also bring their own devices).

If selling phone plans and smart devices sounds interesting to you, then Tempo Wireless is one of the few good MLMs currently working in the wireless industry.
