Mega Holdings

Mega Holdings

Mega Holdings is an MLM whose product is websites. Let's check it out…

The Company

Mega Holdings' company goal is to make website ownership available to everyone in the world… and not just any old website, but a professionally-designed website. They stress the changed nature of communications and business dealings since the advent of the Internet, which has caused website ownership to become a necessity.

Mega Holdings has a philanthropic side to it: they contribute to the UN World Food Program. They are also a member of the Multi Level Marketing International Association. This organization maintains a code of ethics including making the MLM industry look good.

Who's in Charge

Micheal Cheng is the founder and owner of Mega Holdings. He started the company in 1999 in Hong Kong as a seller of web hosting services and websites. According to a 2013 interview he was apparently already successful in business and financially well-off but saw an opportunity with the changing ways of communicating and doing business to the online model. He is a wizard at math as well as a talented mentor and entrepreneur.

Malaysian by birth, Mr. Cheng expanded his MLM business into the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, India and other Aisian countries. He then pushed into Europe and the Middle East. It wasn't until 2001 that he incorporated in Nevada.

In fact, Mr. Cheng has led 5 different international companies in the last decade, in the following areas:

  1. jewelry
  2. healthy food
  3. financial services
  4. education
  5. software

The Products

There is the Product Package, which contains everything you'd need to start a website plus become an Independent Business Partner (IBP), as they're called in the Mega Holdings world. It contains:

  1. domain name registration
  2. website hosting
  3. email hosting
  4. products described below

These are good for the duration of the term you chose when you bought your package. The hosting you get is shared hosting, and not meant to be used by huge companies or for storage, backups, or streaming. You may not resell the package unless of course you are a distributor.

Here are the products:

  • Easy Web Builder. Works like WordPress-choose a theme, add content, publish. No coding required.
  • Webmail Collaboration System. It's like having Microsoft Outlook for your smartphone or tablet. It's lightweight and you can swipe scroll. Also includes appointment scheduling and invitations, a calendar, and HTML editing and viewing for creating and viewing fancy emails. More goodies too, like exporting your contacts, an MP3 media player, etc.

The Mega Holdings Compensation Plan

The LTE Simple Business Concept is that you learn the software described above, teach it to 2 or more friends who also purchase it, and then earn income when they do the same under your name. Here are the details:

  • to register, purchase a $6 registration key from an agent or your uplines
  • activate the key with your chosen package:
    1. Gold Package: $244 + 1 Activation Key (good for one year)
    2. Diamond Package: $732 + 3 Activation Keys (good for 3 years)
  • you get My Virtual Office to manage your IBP account
  • you get a Business Account to manage your Independent Distributorship Business

Buy a package, get the chance to become an IBP.

  • For each person you get to sign up, you get 5%
  • So: 5% of $250 = $12.50. 5% of $750 = $37.50
  • For every 1 package sold in two different legs of your downlines, you get $120.
  • When packages renew, after 1 or 3 years depending the package, you get the same commission all over again
  • Pretty simple, that's it!

The Verdict

Mega Holdings has been around for 14 years now, but as they say with stocks, past performance is not an indicator of future performance. It seems to be a sound, good company but their product will soon be outdated.

Sadly, I think the days of $250 websites are over- the world will soon be catching on to how easy it really is to buy a domain, buy hosting, and install WordPress (which is free, by the way), all for under $100 a year. If you've got a market for this, get going on it because it won't last long.
