Mannatech Review

Mannatech is a health based MLM that focuses on the research, development, and selling of “glyconutrients” a group of plant saccharides. Mannatech has been around since November of 1993 when Samuel L. Caster founded it.

Today it operates in over a dozen countries and is listed on the NASDAQ exchange. It’s total revenue was only 173.447 million, which is significantly less than many other similar MLM’s.

Mannatech Products

As of July 2001, Mannatech offered two topical products, five skin care products, four weight management products, and 22 other nutritional products. Mannatech’s flagship product is called Ambrotose. Essentially, Mannatech’s products are derived directly from plant-derived ingredients, where other companies are developing synthetic products.

Mannatech’s products have also been the subject of several controversies. Essentially, many gylcobiologists claim that Mannatech’s products cannot actually fulfill the claims Mannatech makes because the products do not contain necessary enzymes to allow the body to absorb the ingredients. Unfortunately, company funded company studies have found otherwise, which has only further complicated things for Mannatech.

Mannatech Compensation Plan

Like just about every other MLM, most distributors earn most of their money by buying Mannatech products at wholesale prices and resell them for retail price. There is nothing new here and most members earn about a 25% profit margin on all of their sales. Distributors can also send customers to a toll free line with a referral link to order Mannatech products directly from Mannatech. This pays slightly less to distributors but is easier on the distributor.

Obviously, most of the bonuses are never achieved by most members and only earned by the most exclusive members. However, many members commonly earn the team bonus and team development bonus, although the bonus is very small compared to others.

Bottom Line On Mannatech Opportunity

While the Mannatech bonus system is incredibly generous, the average distributor will never see these results. Plus, there is a lot of scrutiny based upon the legitimacy of Mannatech products, which are unproven compared to several other health MLM’s.

Overall, Mannatech is a riskier MLM to join and is much more unknown than other MLM’s. Therefore, it is much harder to get somebody else to join and could be a lot harder to see any actual returns. It’s probably best to choose another MLM first.
