Gold is on every investor's mind the past few years. Why? Because the price has averaged over 10% increases for the past ten years. Can you think of any other investment that comes anywhere near that kind of result?

Not only that, but gold is solid, reliable, and stable. Nobody's going to lose their shirts while invested in gold because it's simply not susceptible to the same volatility as stocks, bonds, and paper currency.

That's why rich people invest in gold.

There are now companies which specialize in selling gold in very small amounts to people who aren't rich yet who still want the reliability of investing in gold.

One of them is EmGoldex. I'll take you through the ropes on this one- what the company is all about, how they sell their gold, and even their business opportunity for people who might want to earn income by selling for EmGoldex. Let's get started.

The Product

Like their counterparts in the mini gold bar field, EmGoldex sells tiny bars of gold starting at 1 gram. Do you know what 1 gram of gold looks like? Think of a postage stamp (a tiny one, not the big pretty kind) made of gold.

It's more like a chip.

A 1-gram chip of gold goes for around $37 right now. That's around $35 Euros, more or less. Yes, that's a very small amount…why bother? Because gold is more than a valuable precious metal. It's a symbol of so many things.

That's why people love to give little gold chips as presents. Graduation, marriage, baby's birth…all these and other types of big life milestones are commonly celebrated with gifts of gold…by rich people.

Now, with companies like EMGoldex, the not-so-rich can celebrate the “moments of their lives” with gold too. It's a great product and it's also a good investment. Gold will always retail value…we have 2800 years of its use as currency to back that up.

The Company

EmGoldex came into existence about 5 years ago and is based out of UAE (United Arab Emirates), hence the “EM” in EmGoldex. However, they trade on Dubai's exchange so this is really an international venture.

They're pretty tight-lipped about who they are so that's pretty much all I have on this company.

The gold they sell is, however, from large, reputable, certifiable gold houses in Europe. All gold bars from EMGoldex come with purity certificates directly from these houses of gold.

The Compensation Plan

Now we come to one of the stickier points of this review. For the life of me, I had a doozy of a time trying to hunt down the EmGoldex Compensation Plan.

I could tell you about their strange and confusing website but you'll find that out for yourself when you go there.

I finally found something about it after a lot of searching. They call it a “Marketing Program” and it goes something like this:

After signing up with EmGoldex, you have to enter a contract to buy some gold. If you want to earn income with bonuses and residuals, then your contract must be for a heck of a lot of money.

Don't worry, you're told. Your bonuses will pay for your gold so you never actually lay down the full amount in cash yourself.

I'm starting to feel a little suspicious here. Maybe it's the broken English used to lay out the marketing program. Or maybe it's the fact that I have to enter a contract to buy almost $8,000 worth of gold!

Yup, that's your buy-in: almost eight grand. But don't worry, you only have to put down a deposit of $168. Then of course you'll have to work your tail off to get someone else to buy or else when the bill is due you'll be covering that entire amount yourself.

Can you see yourself, in desperation, trying to hook someone on the gold before your bill comes due? I'm not even going to describe the rest of the plan because it involves selling at least 30 orders of gold before you see any benefit to yourself.

The Verdict

I don't think so. Maybe I've not understood the marketing program correctly, but just…no thank you.
