If you take a few minutes to search up the term “social entrepreneurship”, you’ll find thousands of results in any search engine.
In my personal opinion, however, a social entrepreneur is essentially the same thing as a professional changemaker. Their career or business revolves around bringing about positive change to this world and working to help all types of life forms.
It is my opinion that small business owners and progressive entrepreneurs with big dreams have the potential to play a huge part in the eventual changing of our world. In fact, they have the ability to make more of an impact than maybe even they currently realize.
If you own your own personal business or non-profit, you have amazing amounts of power that allow you to create whatever you like. You have the ability to align your business with your own personal values, and you can choose to make decisions that reflect the morals and beliefs that you hold dear to you. Additionally, you can also choose to do business in a way that enables you to change the world and help mold it into the place that you eventually want it to be.
We need corporations and large institutions to realize and embrace this concept as well. But, this is naturally a much slower and inefficient process. Social entrepreneurs are the ones who are paving the way for these large-scale businesses to eventually join this endeavor, yet it is currently taking quite a bit of time.
Our goal is to show that there is a better way to do business, and that this new way of doing business actually has the ability to make more money. Once more people learn about this, corporations will eventually catch on, and they will join the cause as well. This may take a fair amount of time, but it will definitely be worth it in the end.
If you are one of those lucky individuals who is fortunate enough to hold a fairly high up position in a powerful company that is part of the solutions in the world rather than the cause of all of its problems, take a second to consider how rare you truly are on this globe. Most individuals who are employees for large-scale companies are nowhere near as fortunate as you are.

Even though you may be thinking to yourself “I am by no means a business person” right now, please just take another minute to listen to me. If you read a little bit further, you will soon start to realize that the business world is not just meant for people who majored in finance or marketing. In fact, the business world isn’t even just meant for people who are familiar with it, or are what we consider to be the ultimate stereotypical entrepreneur.
