Create Your Own Movement

Let’s face it: it is impossible for you to create your business and career on your own. No one is able to make a positive difference in the world without a little bit of help from others.

Over the years, society has created a myth about an amazing and successful business owner who manages to start their own company completely on their own and without help from anyone else. As phenomenal as this myth sounds, it is nothing but an illusion. If you were to present me with any changemaker who has been successful, I guarantee that I could point out a group of supportive and helpful individuals who have remained by his or her side. I will be able to show you a large and intricate web of all sorts of people, businesses, life forms, and events who have helped to be responsible for that individual’s success. It truly is impossible to be successful on your own. Everyone gets help at one point or another, and that is okay. This is how life naturally works, and it is not something that we should look down upon or consider to be not okay.

It is foolish to think that you can achieve all of your goals without ever receiving help from anyone else. Do not set out on your journey to achieve your higher purpose with the mindset that you are going to do it completely alone. This is simply not realistic, and it will prove to be a major set back for you in the future, as you will not be able to properly plan. It’s time that you accept that you are going to require a lot of help along the way! Everyone does, and this is by no means a bad or negative thing.

When I say that you are going to need a substantial amount of help, I am not saying that you are going to need a large number of staff members. You may very well decide to keep your business as small as possible in order to avoid stress and difficulties, especially if you are just starting out. I have had experience building several businesses to the point where they are worth 6 figures, and I have managed to do this with only a handful of staff members and official helpers. Just because you have a ton of people working for you does not mean that you are going to be automatically successful in your industry.

The type of help that I am referring to is different. I am talking about the help that you will naturally start to receive once you create a business or movement. This help can come in all different forms, and it can be from all different people.

Creating a movement essentially means that you are sharing your higher purpose and mission with other individuals around you, and that you are inviting them to be a part of it with you. You are spreading the word about something that you passionately support, and you are allowing others to join and help your cause. If you find your mission to be inspiring and worthwhile, chances are that others will as well. Not everyone will feel passionately about your mission, and not everyone will want to help you out. But, there will be individuals that do want to help out, as long as you give them the chance to do so. People will want to help to varying degrees, and people will want to help in different ways. Hopefully, with enough help, you will be able to start a movement that can truly make a profound difference.

Hopefully, there will be individuals who are naturally drawn to you because they see how passionate you are about your cause, and how much you truly love it. I have always found it amazing how enthusiasm can bring individuals together.

Thus, building a movement essentially means that you are sharing your mission or cause with others, and that you are inviting people to help support it in any way that they see fit. Building a movement also means that you are making it easy for others to learn about your cause, as well as to help out.

This can take a million different forms. If your cause is something that people can relate to and feel passionate about, they will wind up doing a plethora of different things in order to offer you their support.

Here is a short list of some of things that they may wind up doing:

• Tell their co-workers and work friends about your movement.
• Email everyone they know about your cause and what you are doing.
• Offer you their support, guidance, and advice.
• Help you with making connections and networking.
• Refer new clients to you.
• Spread the word about you on their social media accounts.

To put it simply, if you are able to successfully get individuals to consider your mission to be their mission as well, you have started your very own movement. This is no longer just marketing in order to receive new clients. It is instead marketing to completely change the world, as we know it. Who wouldn’t want to make this earth a better place when given the chance? This is the dream of many, and I promise you that it is achievable! If you present your mission to others in the right light, you will be presented with more help than you could have ever dreamed of receiving. Don’t ever underestimate the number of people that are out there that want to help you achieve your goals.

Right now, you are most likely wondering how all of this specifically applies to YOUR personal business that you have started. Your business may currently be small, and it may also be a part of a small niche, such as massage therapy, jewelry making, or life planning. In fact, you may not even have your own business yet.

You may be thinking to yourself that this creating a movement and aligning yourself with evolution business is too large scale and impractical for you. However, I disagree. I believe that these concepts truly are applicable for any type of business, no matter what size. You can apply these principles to any business quite easily. Let’s take a closer look at the massage therapist example.

Generally speaking, massage therapists do not have to try very hard to line themselves up with evolution. Because they deal with hands on healing, they already enable individuals to obtain a deep alignment with their innermost selves. Despite this fact, massage therapy businesses still have the ability to bring themselves to an entirely new level. They can create a purpose that revolves around spreading health, mental well-being, and promoting peace within the entire community.

If you are a massage therapist, you can choose to enroll just several people, including some of your current clients, in your new movement of spreading health, mental well-being, and promoting peace within the entire community. You may even get to the point where you receive so many referrals that you must create a waiting list! Or, you can always hire additional massage therapists in order to help with your new demand.

Do you see how different this is than just simply asking people to send you referrals with your company? This is not me telling you that you should never ask people to send you referrals, but this is me encouraging you to first try inviting people to join your movement instead. You may be pleasantly surprised by the results that you wind up getting!

Now, I have both an invitation and challenge for you to take part in: see if you can identify what your personal movement is, whether it be for you as an individual, or a company that you work for or own. Then, once you have completed this, tell us about it by posting on our comments page!

Before I move on to the next chapter of this book, I want to share my personal movement with you, just to give you an example of some of the missions that exist out there:

As an individual, I am dedicated to helping create and build a socially just, spiritually fulfilled, and sustainable planet that enables every person to win. And, in order to allow this to successfully happen, I want to help empower conscious entrepreneurs that yearn for the same thing.
